The English Language (either British or American) is regarded as one of the most important entity for anybody in today’s modern world. It is everywhere from normal daily life to trade-commerce and international relations. Any academic or non-academic courses demand good skill in English. Proficiency in this language carries global recognition for an individual along with his/her qualification(s).

English language at Meridien

Our most popular program is the Intensive English Language Program, chosen by majority of the students for its efficiency. The design of this course ensures students to have maximum opportunity to develop confidence to use English in the shortest possible time. Throughout the course, students have the opportunity to personalize the language they learn and make use of their own life experiences and work. The language department caters for both individual and group classes.

Despite its complexity, English language holds interesting capability to develop communicate effectively in a student. H/she should prepare in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, with particular emphasis on speaking.

The primary goal of the course is to teach communicative competence, that is, the ability to communicate in English according to the situation, purpose and the role of participants.

Levels & Aptitude Test

The Intensive English Language course is conducted at six levels from Beginner to Advanced levels. The duration of each level is of six weeks. Students are tested and interviewed by the academic personnel on the first day and then subsequently placed into the right level. The levels decided for students reflect the test results, the content of the interview, professional and academic background, age and the language requirements of students.

Self Access Lab

The Self-Access Lab offers students with materials designed to help improve their language skills (speaking, listening, writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation) ranging from beginners to advanced levels. The Self-Access Lab is for students to work on their own enhancing their language skills.

Library

The library facility is provided to every student from Monday to Friday. The library is fully equipped with sufficient materials so as to meet the needs of students.
